Our Programs

Academic programming

We provide programs catering to children aged 6 weeks through Grade 6. Our programs aim to nurture your child’s independence, self-esteem, and social as well as academic potential. The individualized curriculum we offer sets the groundwork for fostering a lifelong love of learning.

Infants (Ages 6 weeks- 12 months)

Learning and Nurturing Child Care

Just like scientists, very young children learn about the world around them by experimenting and trying new ways of doing things. The bonds they form with warm, nurturing teachers and the stimulating environment of the classroom forms their strong foundation. This is far more than just daycare. At Kids Express we are designed to ensure that even our youngest learners are developing and meeting significant milestones in these five areas:

  1. Cognitive Development: Infants develop the ability to pay attention and to engage and interact with others.
  2. Language Development: Infants develop the ability to communicate verbally.
  3. Physical Development and Health: Infants develop the ability to intentionally move parts of their body.
  4. Social-Emotional Development: Infants practice different ways to get their needs met.
  5. Approaches to Learning: Infants explore the world around them.

We help develop young minds to be curious, versatile, and adaptable, through experiences across three distinct classroom areas:

  • Cozy Area: Reading books, telling stories, having conversations.
  • Exploration Area: Manipulating objects and interacting with materials.
  • Movement Area: Exploring balance, coordination, gross motor skills.

Keeping Little Ones Safe

We’re committed to offering a safe, secure environment as we care for infants.

  1. Safe sleep: All babies (up to age 2) are placed on their back to sleep. We adhere to a “Lights On” policy, while cribs are free from bedding, blankets, and stuffed animals (crib only contains a mattress with tight-fitting sheet).
  2. Crib checks: When children are napping, teachers maintain visual contact and active listening, while checking on them at regular intervals.
  3. Industry-best ratios: Infants have a primary caregiver that provides specific attention, while the entire classroom team works together to provide constant supervision.
  4. Health and cleanliness: We have a comprehensive schedule for cleaning and disinfecting (with safe cleaning products), plus staff wear dedicated shoes (or shoe covers) in this classroom.

Toddlers (Ages 1 – 2 years)

Firstly a healthy environment is very critical for your toddler’s development.

Energy and excitement are a natural part of growth and learning.

We encourage toddlers to explore, learn, grow, and develop in a caring and nurturing environment through a well-designed curriculum.

AT Kids Express we channel that energy into positive learning experiences, providing plenty of room to move and explore. With the learnng experiences in these classrooms we address the evolving developmental needs of this increasingly mobile age group, while milestone development continues to be guided by our exclusive “creative curriculum” early education curriculum program

The five developmental areas we focus on are:

  • Cognitive Development: Children develop problem-solving and creative thinking skills.
  • Language and Communication Development: Children develop the ability to communicate effectively using sounds, expressions, and body language.
  • Physical Development and Health: Children develop the ability to coordinate and control large and small muscle movements.
  • Social-Emotional Development: Children develop the ability to interact with others and increasing awareness of themselves and their emotions.
  • Approaches to Learning: Children develop their problem-solving abilities.

As children grow more mobile, the Toddler classroom offers five distinct learning areas for exploration and discovery:

  1. Art & Science
  2. Math & Engineering
  3. Language Arts
  4. Music & Movement
  5. Dramatic Arts

Preschooler 1 (Ages 3 – 4 years)

Kids Express exclusive early education curriculum for this program, Creative Curriculum, is based on developmental indicators and is specifically designed for preschoolers between the ages of 3/4 years old.

Children build their skills across 10 developmental areas:

Physical Development and Health: Children develop the ability to follow directions, complete tasks with little supervision, and participate actively in group games.

Language: Children develop the ability to respond appropriately to questions about books, and repeat different words/sentences to get another person to respond.

Approaches to Learning: Children develop the ability to find solutions to simple problems.

Social-Emotional Development: Children develop the ability to use emotional words (such as “I’m mad”) to get needs met, follow established rules and routines in the classroom, and play well with others.

Creative Arts: Children develop the ability to use materials, such as pencils, paints, play dough, and musical instruments, in different and varied ways.

Literacy: Children develop the ability to ask adults to read printed information, draw figures and shapes to convey meaning, and use picture and verbal cues.

Logic and Reasoning: Children develop the ability to sort and solve simple puzzles.

Math: Children develop the ability to identify numerals and alternating patterns.

Nature and Science: Children develop the ability to classify objects into living and non-living categories, provide explanations for why an event/outcome occurred, and demonstrate some persistence and creativity in solving a problem.

Social Studies: Children develop the ability to use terms related to location, direction, and distance, as well as to use the language of time (day, night, yesterday, today, tomorrow).

These early learners benefit from creative curriculum focused enhancements in their classroom. These include the engineering station with a variety of blocks, gears, puzzles, and magnetic connectors as well as art materials integrated throughout the room to support 21st century learning skills. Children also learn to work with others, develop self-help skills, and follow directions and routines. Visual “Children’s Tools” enable them to take charge of actions and behaviors, gain independence, and to be successful, confident, and empowered. These tools include picture schedules for children learn to follow routines and schedules while beginning to understand the different parts of the day and Class Expectations Signs, Expectations for classroom behaviors are illustrated, focusing children on ways to be safe, kind, and responsible, while also having fun.mThis program acts as a supportive bridge to the next Preschool room, easing a child’s transition to a more structured environment and consistent routines.

Preschooler 2 (Ages 4 – 5 years)

As an essential steppingstone to kindergarten, Kids Express’ Preschool program offers our research-based curriculum, and personalized learning experiences. Lessons integrate the arts and sciences. In a fun-filled space with friends, children are encouraged to develop socially as well as academically.

An Interactive Environment:

Here are some ways creative curriculum is integrated throughout this classroom:

  1. Science: Microscopes and hand lenses are used to explore what living and non-living things look like up close.
  2. Technology: During group learning time, age-appropriate interactive digital technology could be employed, with age-specific apps.
  3. Engineering: Robotics materials, as well as a variety of small table-top blocks and large, floor-use blocks encourage children to design, test, and build their own constructions.

Creative Curriculum activities also explore the arts and math:

  1. The Arts: Language arts (reading, writing, literacy), visual arts (painting, sculpture, etc.), dramatic and musical arts (costumes, instruments, etc.) are featured.
  2. Math: Tangible, engaging math experiences are supported by a variety of resources including tree blocks, stone counting pieces, balance scales, and measuring tools.

Achieving Milestones:
